Can I just say that I am exasperated? I have spent a collective number of days working on this website. With absolutely no knowledge of how to do it, nor any of the millennial know-how, I cry daily.
As soon as I understand the concept, make updates, or change a style, a wall of bricks comes crashing down on me. Do you know how many times I have reverted to an earlier revision or just outright reset my entire site? It is countless. Also, I may have a drinking problem now.
I am a blind dog looking for a toy to play with and keep grabbing the porcupine sitting on the porch.
There are parts of this website I love. I love my new section called ‘Nicole’s Notes’. It is designed in the very image of Coles Notes. All the Gen-Xers will understand. That is what I love about my design skills. I drew a replica of the cover in Illustrator, saved it as an SVG and dropped it into the page.
I will make a note for the non-design crew. When you drop in a JPG or a PNG from a saved Illustrator file, it loads with blurred edges, weird typography and looks like the pics you swipe from the internet. Bad. The mark of a bad designer. I am proud that I have that skill. I am also exhausted scrubbing this site of said ‘grabbed’ pics.
Now I am going to dig myself out of this pile of bricks and go for a nap.
